Where to stay on a trip can make or break the experience. Booking the best place to stay that fits the traveler’s needs is imperative. What the traveler is looking for and their budget are big indications of where to begin. Airbnb, Hostelworld, and hotels all have a place when it comes to International travel.
From my experience, I have used more hostels than other types of accommodations for several reasons. The prices are great, they offer many services like day trips or have a bar on the premises, and there are many other guests who are my age. The downsides are having strangers as roommates that could be very loud, heavy snorers, or just rude. Most hostels have an age limit of around 35 years old, but this can be checked on the hostel’s website.
Airbnb is wonderful when you have a group of people traveling together. If the group wishes to stay together this is a good option to stay more private and the cost can be split amongst the people in the group. Airbnb offers views and experiences that hostels may not. For example, if the Airbnb is on the beach, has a pool, or is in a tiny house rather than a typical house setting.
Hotels are traditional, luxury, and usually expensive. They work for people who have their job paying for their stay or wish to stay with the more familiar option. If the guest prefers to spend the money on a hotel stay then acquiring the small soaps, shampoos, and free toothbrush are nice take home gifts.
Picking a place to stay while traveling internationally can make or break the experience. Researching what type of place best fits their needs, price range, and age should be done shortly after booking flights to the destination.
