Packing for a trip can be exciting, but also stressful. Necessities should be prioritized and amenities must be limited. With help of premade packing lists and accessories suitcases and backpacks can be kept organized.
Making lists of what is needed can help keep organized and less likely to forget something. Including simple categories like clothing, toiletries, and electronics is a good start. Making a list of items to purchase ahead of time is also helpful.
Weather conditions should be taken into consideration depending on the destination and time of year. Lightweight rain gear and only a few pairs of shoes are good choices for keeping backpacks and suitcases light.
Solid walking shoes are absolute essentials. Before my three-week backpacking excursion, I invested in Chaco sandals. These shoes are great for warm to cool weather, keeping my feet comfortable all day, and in water.
Keeping suitcases organized and light as possible can be a struggle for many. I recommend using packing cubes from an REI outlet. These cubes can be used to separate delicates or preplan outfits. Packing light is key to having room for souvenirs to bring home!
When packing clothes I include simple tops and bottoms that can be made into many outfits. I will also pack on-the-go detergent packets for doing wash in hostels. I recommend packing as light as possible but bring what is necessary for comfort and leave some room to buy clothes while abroad.
Packing light and sensible is important to have everything you need and space for souvenirs. Using accessories like packing cubes or toiletry bags keep bags organized.
