My favorite place I have ever traveled to is Belgium. The unbelievable scenery and atmosphere were beyond my expectations. There were plenty of spots for eating, drinking, and touring walking distance from my hostel.
As far as food and drink in the area I spent most breakfasts at the hostel to save euros, but I had beer and waffles every day. There were infinite waffle shops with countless toppings for my waffle needs. The bars were amazing since Belgium is noted as the best beer in the world,
Some spots in Bruges worth noting are the chocolate story museum, beer museum, and the windmills. Areas outside of Bruges worth a visit are a tour in Ghent’s Gravensteen castle to check out the medieval castle’s history. Brussels is the capital of Belgium which was not as exciting as I was expecting, but great tours of the area to see historical landmarks.

The train made a day trip to the Ostend beach simple. The walk from the station to the beach was short and scenic. A long pier extended into the ocean was an interesting experience. Being in far out enough to look back at the coastline was captivating.
The unique cobblestone streets and architecture felt like I was staying in a fairy tale town. Almost everyone I encountered spoke clear English making conversation and interactions easier.
I have no complaints about my stay in Belgium and hope to be back within the next few years. The enchanting atmosphere and hospitality by the locals made my trip even better. I would recommend visiting Belgium to anyone that likes beer, chocolate, or waffles!
